In this lovely, peaceful scene entitled Merry Christmas by Nicky Boehme, a family is carrying home a tree that they have just cut down for Christmas. Traditionally, this was not done until Christmas Eve. The tree would stay up all during the 12 days of Christmas and then be taken down at Epiphany [January 6th]. But currently, some will decorate a tree at the beginning of Advent [Advent takes place the 4 Sundays before Christmas], or December 1st or another day of certain significance before Christmas and may take it down at a different time other than Epiphany. Some may not take down the tree until Candlemas, which is February 2nd. Christmas Trees have been around for almost 600 years. What would Christmas be without one?
As you and your loved ones assemble this jigsaw puzzle, let the peaceful sounds of Christmas music fill your soul. It would also be a fun time to share memories of Christmas past. You can find this and other Christmas jigsaw puzzles at A+ Puzzles, etc.
